Provided by YP.comRecently my 1992 Chevy Blazer was experiencing shifting problems and 2nd gear clutch engagement issues. So, I looked at a couple local shops such as Shop A (Shop A is used to protect the shops name), and S&S Transmission. Shop A was standoffish and would not give me the time of day. Plus, their shop was a mess with no real order amongst the shop and the office (parts and papers everywhere). This is typically a clear reflection of the business, work ethic and priorities. Then I proceeded to S&S for more advice, since the other shop left me empty handed. S&S was quick, kind and professional to assist me in my time of need. They gave me a quick assesment on the spot, with their 50 years of experience. This type of professionalism made me as a customer feel comfortable (like a family member, not some outcast). After our brief interaction I felt comfortable with S&S doing the work. So, I then dropped off my Blazer and picked it up two days later! This is one of the best turn arounds I have every seen for competing a full transmission rebuild and replaces a couple seals in the transfer case that they noticed were leaking, at an extremely low cost.

Provided by YP.comBased on his many years of experience in fixing transmissions, Joe assessed the problem and explained what was needed. He gave me the estimate and stuck to it. My truck is running really well. I have Joe to thank - he knows transmissions!

Provided by YP.comIt has been a month since I took my 04 Avalanche to S&S Transmission and it runs great. It was by luck that I went there. I had called all the transmission shops that were closer to me but non could get me in for diagnostics for a couple of days. Joe asked me to bring it to him at 1 pm that day. He hook up to the computer and took it for a test drive. When he returned him gave me the est. I told him I needed to decide and would let him know later. I asked much I owed and he said nothing that it is part of the deal. All the places I called what $85 to $90 for diagnostics. That made my decision easy. I brought the truck to him on Wed morning and Friday afternoon I picked it up. His work was meticulous and my truck could not be better. I would tell everyone with transmission trouble to go to S&S Transmission. Joe is honest to a fault. He is very good at what he does and he runs the cleanest shop I have ever seen. Go to Joe. You won't be sorry.

Provided by YP.comI decided it was time to have the transmission on my restored 1965 Mustang rebuilt. I consulted with my son in law who is a Master Mechanic and does most of the heavy lifting with all of our vehicles, and he strongly suggested that we find a good transmission shop to do the rebuild. I called all of the shops in the area and some seemed to be confused when I asked for a rebuild on a Ford c-4 Dual Select C-4 transmission. On the other hand when I contacted Joe Reynolds at S and S Transmission he knew exactly what this old tranny was and bean to describe the dual select option. I went to the shop and Joe took the time to make me feel comfortable with his knowledge and expertise with my classic car. He took time to let me look at his shop which is immaculate. While doing the job Joe called me to keep me informed on the progress. He took care of the car when it was in the shop as I would. After the job was complete Joe went through all of the replaced parts, and explained what was replaced and why. He also took me for a test drive on completion. I am completely satisfied with the work done on my Mustang. It drives like a new car. I would trust S and S with any type of auto work; Joe is almost too honest to be in the business.
Vintage/Classic car community please take note…… I would not have any one else work on my transmission other than Joe Reynolds of S and S Transmission.

Provided by YP.comS and S replaced a transmission in my 2005 Toyota Sienna 3.3L. We had a great experience with Joe’s work ethics. Work is done very well, on time; Joe worked long hours to save us money on car rent. We are very impressed with Joe’s honesty, and even more impressed cleanliness o the office and the shop. Pleasure to be around. highly recommend.

Provided by YP.comI took my ’04 Chevy Silverado Z71 in for a transmission diagnosis and rebuild. The Truck had lost 4th Gear in Maryland. I drove back to Groton. S and S checked the electrical first. Upon disassemble they found a broken band. S and S made sure the rebuild was required before selling me. 2 months later, truck drives like new and the gas mileage has improved. Shifts solid when towing.

Provided by YP.comS and S have given me satisfaction every time I bring my truck in. They always do the job properly and the job is completed for a very reasonable price. My truck drives like new again and I know that I can look forward to many miles of dependable service. I will refer as many people as possible to your business. Thanks again S and S for a job well done.

Provided by YP.comI wish that all garages were able to run an operation as effectively as you do. It was interesting to hear how your grandfather has the first automatic transmission shop n the state of Rhode Island. It seems that transmissions are “in your blood.” You are a one man operation who exudes personal responsibility and integrity. Your efficiency and years of experience benefit the customer in countless ways. Thanks again for all your help.

Provided by YP.comOnce again, after leaving S&S Transmission, I am a happy camper! Joe is awesome!! Being a woman, who is a bit older, it can be easy for a lot of car shops to take advantage of my situation. But Joe was up front and honest, helping me out the entire way through. The repair was smooth sailing and I sincerely appreciate the kindness you have bestowed upon me. I hope many others will see for themselves the kind of top notch service you provide to your customers, go check out S&S Transmission!
