Trapper Johns is a great family run, locally operated, livery. The workers are always willing to help and give trip suggestions.

I have been using TJCL for 5 years and always tell my friends to do the same.

TJCL offers trips covering ~4, 6, 9, and 12 miles. Boating options include single person kayaks, tandem kayaks, two person canoes or a private boat shuttle. Season passes are offered.

They do follow a strict no alcohol policy because of state law. While this does not bother me, I felt it was important to include as part of an honest review.

Two workers were very rude to us, and they even suggested we go somewhere else. They boast that they have the greatest scenery, but I don't consider run down houses along the river bank and the trash floating in the river scenic. If you are looking for a hassle free trip and truly beautiful scenery I would consider going somewhere else. I live close by here and can say I will never go back again.

The place is great and the staff is friendly. They have lots of 1 and 2 person kayaks. I would have give this place 5 stars. But, the owner, NEEDS to work on his people skills. I have went 2 times already and both times the man is aggressive and rude. But, overall the wife and kids had a blast. And its nice they pick you up, At the end of the trip.
