City of Gulfport Parks Department operates Clam Bayou Nature Park, which is spread over an area of more than 10 acres of nature preserve. It works to improve the appearance of the City of Gulfport in Florida through the maintenance of turf and use of durable park furnishings and landscaping. The department maintains Tomlinson Park Complex, which was partially funded by the Southwest Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Environmental Protection-Land and Water Conservation Fund and Florida Department of Agriculture. It is a part of the leisure services department that oversees casinos, theaters, libraries, parks, and recreation and multipurpose senior centers. The Leisure Services Department is owned and operated by the community services department that is responsible for recreational, educational and social service activities.
