His talents were well spotted by some of Beverly Hills elite hair stylists. After a short period of assisting the likes of Lamar Joe White, and working alongside of Allen Edwards and Clifford Peterson, in his self-titled salon, A Michael's ventured out on his own to open the first solely Black owned salon in Beverly Hills namely, V-Vert International, 268 S. Beverly Drive. As a result A Michael's of Beverly Hills came into existence. Well on his way to making his mark in the world of beauty services, he became the stylist for such artists as Kool & The Gang, Dennis Edwards of The Temptations and Leon Isaac Kennedy and he didn't stop there.
