After moving out we received a bill one month later for over a thousand dollars that we were told we had to pay IN CASH within ten days of the date they sent the bill or we would be put in collections. There was minor carpet staining and scratches from our chihuhuah on an outside storage door. The pricing for the repairs was ridiculous. Considering we always saw them replacing carpet when tenants moved out in the almost four years we lived there I gather they charge everyone to replace the carpet no matter the length of tenancy. Scammers in charge at that place don't let them fool you. We have recommended the place to over six people in our length of stay but from now on we will be warning people away.
This is a response to Costello214. My name is Brandy the property manager of The Plantation Apartments. Your move out statement stated that your account balance for the damages caused would need to be paid in full within 10 days of the move out statement. We accept checks, cashier checks and money orders for payment. Our statements do not state cash payment is required. In the event the carpet has to be replaced due to damages beyond normal wear and tear of it, the resident will be charged a prorated amount for the replacement cost. We appreciate your lengthy residency and the referrals of your friends and/or family. In no way are we scamming anyone. This is a business and in any lease agreement you sign, it states that you will be charged for anything more than normal wear and tear. We have also set up a payment plan with you with the payment being paid with a personal check not cash. Again, we thank you for your residency and wish you well in the future.
