I have tried not to come here and post a negative report for so long but today, Christmas eve, is the last straw.



I walked in to send a package. The hours were already shortened to noon and it was around 10:45. The employee who was there looked like she was visiting with one of her friends. When I walked in I took one of the direct mailing boxes and then she said, "I can't mail anything today. Meter is broke." Now, when typed out that does not sound so bad. But it was in her tone...her body language. She ENJOYED telling me that. She almost smirked when she said it. Her manner almost was boasting when she said "I can only do money orders".



The Post Office at CBC Gulfport has terrible customer service, terrible hours, and is simply the worst Post Office I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. Why this woman even received a paycheck is a mystery. We serve our country and they, and the USPS, could care less.



They are a discredit to what they do.

I think it's ridiculous that a soldier can be on this base for 3 monhts and the only way they can receive mail is through UPS or FedEx because this base does not have a real Post Office, it just has a contract postal unit (not a real post office with real postal employees). The Navy Gateway Inn which a lot of sailors stay at does not accept mail from the Post Office. I think the Post vOffice needs to figure something out to get US mail delivery to our troops that are stateside!
