Most of you are aware, I'm caring for my aging, ill Mother. I solicited the services of this organization for Home Care Services. Early on I experienced some "bumps in the road" with the staff. The first two home attendants just decided not to show up one day, their coordinator/scheduler notified me of this 2 hours into my work day on both occasions. Keep in mind, I discovered they did minimal work, basically just sat there all day with my Mom in front of the television. Often times they left earlier than the time they were scheduled for. I chose not to transfer to another company because the paperwork had been submitted to the insurance and I couldn't imagine starting the process over, 6 weeks into it. Our third aide, seem to work out well for some time despite of the fact, she barely spoke english. Unfortunately, as with many Alzheimer patients, my mother became increasingly agitated with this 3rd Aide. What made the situation more challenging, again, was the fact that this aide hardly spoke english and therefore couldn't communicate appropriately with Mom. Immediately after discovering Mom's agitation with the aide, I contacted the Scheduler. I explained to her how I felt it was time to begin searching for another aide because of how Mom was now reacting to her. I'd also discovered the aide had left many times without notifying anyone in the house and left early however, signed out for a later time?? I would like to also mention that before allowing this aide, who barely spoke english, to care for Mom, I explained to the Scheduler she needed to be temporary. I stressed how she needed to continue to search for a spanish speaking aide that we'd be able to use long term. Our last conversation was on Friday May 31st where I stressed the need to have our current aide replaced ASAP! I received a follow up call later that week on thursday, no voicemail, just a missed call. Friday and the entire weekend passed, I hear nothing from anyone at ALWAYS THERE HOME-CARE. Early this morning, I get a call from their Scheduler stating how she could not find anyone to replace the last aide and the best she could do is to refer me to other agencies? I pleaded with her to do her best to find a temporary replacement until I could find another agency. I went on to speak to their head nurse who offered absolutely no help other than to refer me to another agency. According to their scheduler, she left a voicemail for me on the previous thursday that I never received. To make matter's worse, they weren't even apologetic?! The nurse in charge placed blame on us, using silly excuses for the inexcusable behavior of her staff. Needless to say I'm absolutely disgusted with this organization. Their staff is incompetent, unreliable and not properly equipped to work in this industry. I'm a working woman, mother, caregiver who with not even a days notice has to yet again scramble to figure out what to do with my elderly parent who suffers from Alzheimer's because this poor excuse for a Home Care Agency has left me out to dry without notice. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone ever!!!! You should be ashamed of yourselves ALWAYS THERE HOME-CARE HACKENSACK, NJ
