The Washington County Transit Department - County Commuter is a part of the Division of the Public Works, which is a part of the Washington County Government in Maryland. The department operates the public transportation system in the county. It manages various fixed urban routes that originate in Hagerstown and offer services to Funkstown, Halfway, Long Meadow, Maugansville, Robinwood, Smithsburg and Williamsport in Maryland. The Washington County Transit Department - County Commuter also provides transportation services for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities through a contracted ride assist voucher system, which is funded by the Statewide Special Transportation Assistance Program (SSTAP). In addition, the department offers job access solutions in collaboration with the Washington County Department of Social Services.
