If you do not want to be taken advantage of by Rod I strongly suggest you get a quote ahead of the service.
I personally was taken advantage of not once but twice and have the documents to support this.
What ever he has on the truck you will get it installed weather you need it or not.
First service he claimed I had a cracked 1/2 hp pump down in my well.
Turned out it was not cracked and he wont return it but gets a kicker from his supplier for turning it back in to them and this is over and above his $150.00 service call.
Further more he had a 175% mark up on the pump plus mark up on every fitting.
Even though I instructed him to add me to a service list that was in the area- no special trip required so he could consolidate his service runs.
Second service call was to fix the ongoing leak that caused the first service call.
The leak from rusted out fittings not a cracked pump.
The fittings were replaced and it so happened he had a new bladder tank on board so that should be replaced also. Along comes the irrational mark up on the tank plus every nut & bolt.
Save your self money and always get a second quote prior to working with Rod.
Oh and this is Rod suggestion to me on the 20% balance due- his idea not mine.
He said he will start proceedings. He is the professional so I will take his suggestion- start proceedings.

Rod came out and diagnosed my problem, removed my old pressure switch from a "bad" location. He rewired a new switch and pressurized my tank. All for the same price as what another company wanted just for a service call. And he took the time to explain everything.
