Whitney High School East offers various educational and extracurricular programs for students in the age group of 14 to 21 years. It serves more than 100 children with cognitive, physical, behavioral, language and medical disabilities. The school s programs focus on employment, independent living and community participation. Its curriculum includes social interaction, work exposure, life skills, career exploration and academic courses for high school credit. The school utilizes various assistive technology devices. It also provides extensive mental health services and occupational, physical, speech and music therapies. Located in Hamden Conn., Whitney High School East is a part of Area Cooperative Educational Services.
