I've been boarding at Horseplay for about 10 years. My horse has been very well watched over. He's never been injured by a failure in the facilities and has stayed very healthy. Springs are pretty wet for about 3 weeks but otherwise the grounds are very nice. The arenas are clean of debris and the ground is good. There are nice trails for short walks and a huge pasture for turnout during the summer. I'd say go see it for yourself. If you like what you see, you can trust the service to be good. Not sure what the poster below meant about doors not working... there's not a door or gate out there that doesn't have a working latch or chain or some other mechanism on it. Then again, if you're looking for a place with brass polished handles, cement floors and cedar stalls, go somewhere else and pay four times as much. Horseplay is a nice ranch with an attentive owner and great facilities for the price.

The outside doors do not close properly to ANY barn, some not at all. Stalls in poor condition&some flooded! Uneven stallmats. Irritable horse in a makeshift stall pawing at a gate. A injured horse with dressings on mult legs. Uneven&flooded isleways & locker areas. Horses w/no shelters in paddocks. Many downed fences. leaking barn roofs. Bird&Chicken poo everywhere! Chickens that free range following U around clucking at U. Heated barn smelt like URINE! FIRE HAZARD where a plug in electrical space heater was being used to heat a water hose box!!!60+ horses in main pasture, which is a poo pit! Many horses had healing wounds or scabs... high injury stale???

Don't believe the bad reviews. Notice that they're not signed. Believe the people that really board at Horseplay. My horses and I have been there for 8 years. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I wouldn't tolerate a place that didn't take care of my horses. Mary and her staff are attentive to each horse and their needs. My horses are in excellent health and have taken ribbons at many shows, including the State Championships. Come out and meet the real boarders and see what we have to say.

Our horse has been at Horseplay for 10 years. They do a great job with daily care and keep a very close eye on the health of all of the horses. There are regular vet and farrier clinics set up so that we don't have to pay the travel fees, but rather just pay for the services rendered. It is a great "family" atmosphere and we think the owner, Mary, is extremely fair with fees. The horses have a lot of acreage; and the ranch has all of the amenities a horse owner looks for: an indoor arena, outdoor arena, round-pen, wash stall, etc. My favorite ranch event is the spring pasture release when 70 horses come thundering out to the spring grassy pasture on the hill. It's a spectacular event!

The horses from horseplay that end up at local shows are usually underweight and wormy. In fact one emaciated horse started colicing at a show, presumably parasitic colic. Most of the boarders don't know better and are being...

I have been a boarder here for five years and love it. Mary, the owner, and Laura, the manager love and care for each horse as if it were their own. We also have a great group of boarders, with varied horse interests, so you can always find someone with an interest similar to your own. Both my horses really settled down when they moved here because of the regular routines and consistent care. It's close to the Twin Cities, and easily accessible.
