Provided by YP.comI shipped a package in a US Priority Mail Box (Red, White and Blue) on April 3rd; It made it to the Hammond, IN Hessville Post Office on April 5th. Tracking shows it being received and being put on the mail truck out for delivery. That’s it, no other updates. They lost the package. Most of the time I call the post office, no one answers. It just rings and rings. One time I called at 7:30am and some rude person answered and told me to never call before 9am. Wow, some customer service. Other calls went to the supervisor Mr. Smith. He seemed to be concerned about my lost package; well at least he appeared to be but always took my information and said he would call me back. He never called me back. I called back 5 times, each time; he took all the same information from me, tracking #, My Name, where the package was going, where it came from, etc etc. If he was really looking for my package, why would he need this information every time I called? To make a long story short, they lost it but in my eyes, they stole my package. I get nothing from them. Not even an apology. I was told without insurance, there is nothing that he can do. My understanding of insurance is it would protect the item in transit from any damage and not a loss or a theft by a careless postal carrier. Wow, some company. No accountability. Nothing. I didn't even get offered my money back for the $6 bucks I spent for them to steel my item. Luckily, I had one more of the item to ship to MY customer, this time I sent it by Fed-Ex. I asked for $100.00 of insurance, they kindly told me that the insurance is FREE. Now that’s some concept. Free shipping insurance. That shows confidence by FedEx that they will get my package there. It arrived in two days. Not to sure my customer was happy that he had to wait to find out that his item was lost or stolen and wait for a replacement. But at least I gave the best customer service I could, can’t say that for the post office. One thing I can guess, if I have insured that package, I bet it wouldn’t have been gone. If the post office doesn’t have to pay any claims, what is their incentive to go out of their way for their customers? Keep up the lousy work, no wonder the post office is losing money and their competitors are running right by them. I’m a Fed-Ex fan now all the way!!!
Here is my tracking Update which doesn’t show what happened, just that there isn’t any update, what a joke. Maybe they should put in there that it was lost or stolen.
