During your visit: After escorting you to an exam room, the medical assistant will obtain your vital signs and talk with you about the reason for your visit. Your medical history will be entered into your electronic medical record and kept for future visits. Your provider will then meet with you to discuss your symptoms, history, and perform a thorough examination. Any necessary labs, tests, or x-rays will be ordered and performed. After determining your diagnosis, your provider will provide you with treatment recommendations, prescriptions for any medications prescribed and instructions for follow-up care. Upon discharge, you will be referred back to your primary care provider or specialist (if allowed by your insurance) for follow-up care and treatment.
