Education Excellence

My first granddaughter attended DLC preschool and excelled in elementary school because of the great foundation learning she received there. She loved her preschool . Now she has a little sister who is in preschool there. In the year that she has been attending the preschool we have seen her blossom from a baby to preschooler. Her vocabulary grew so much. I am amazed at all she has learned. The Abeka curriculum surely is a great foundation. We are so happy to have her at discovery and more so she is very happy there. she looks forward to going to school everyday.

My kids love DLC

My kids love DLC. My son started going to DLC in 2011 when he was 3 years old for part-time care on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All of the staff soon knew him as it is a small preschool and everyone helps out as needed. We gradually added more days as he became accustomed to going to school. I love that parents get to decide how many days and how many hours they want their child to attend. My son completed the PreK course last year and is currently breezing through kindergarten, having learned most everything he needs to know during his preschool years. My daughter is currently in the PreK class and I know she will be ready for kindergarten next year due to all she has learned at preschool.DLC offers the Abeka curriculum, basic religious education, and a close knit community for my children to learn and grow in. My children have loved all the teacher they have had. They are caring, warm and friendly. Even though my son no longer goes there regularly, the staff has been wonderful and flexible with my need for occasional after- school care. They truly put the child's welfare first and are willing to work with parents' work schedules to provide the best care for the children. My son misses his preschool and loves returning for the occasional after-school care and even during his school holidays, so he can play and have fun with his old friends. My children also attend DLC during the summer. There are so many fun activities mixed in with their learning. They never complain of being bored. I also love that the play area has a sun shade covering it; a definite plus given the variable Texas weather. Ms. Debbie and /or Ms. Judi can help you figure out what schedule would work out for you and your family. Hopefully your kids will love it there as much as mine do.

We Love It

My niece and nephew both have attended Discovery Learning Center for years and love it. DLC is serious about their safety and education. It is truly a Preschool and not a daycare. The Abeka curriculum really prepares them for public school. The teachers and the director Mrs. Judy are great. We highly recommend this place!

Childcare Review

With the ever growing worries of being parent these days, it is very reassuring to know that your babies are taken care of. My little girl brings home stories of love, compassion, and treating each other right. It's good to know that there is somewhere that you can leave your kids in total safety. I hope and pray that you find as much comfort as we have from DLC.

My daughter attended the schoo...

My daughter attended the school for several months and I was waiting to see the implications of their curriculum in her schooling and the only thing I was witnessing was that I was paying for my daughter to be the teacher's assistant. She was too advanced for their curriculum that they were teaching and it didn't stimulate her mind. The staff there is amazing, the director and the teachers are all genuinely sweet and truly love what they do. The administrators on the other hand is completely different. They are a Pastor and his wife and ironically don't have the business sense of how to treat a customer. No matter what situation arises they shouldn't argue, or threaten to call the police because they don't like what they hear. Also it is quite contradicting to have a pastor not willing to forgive a person's mistake including his own. And if that is how they deal with situations with parents then how do they handle kids making mistakes in their own school. Is it that they don't address an issue but rather just let it slide as if nothing happened? Or do they do the polar oppostie and accuse and repremand a child because of disbelief in what they hear. And isn't it stated that it takes at least two people to have an arguement, so doesn't that also follow up with the people included in the situation apologize to each other for the miscommunication that occured. My daughter is no longer at that school because they kicked her out of the program because they were UNWILLING to APOLOGIZE for the PASTOR'S wife hanging up on me. And so my daughter is losing out on her education because they could not be mature enough to own up to their own mistakes and correct a wrong simply because they personally NOT PROFESSIONALLY felt it was necessary. And the only advice they gave me was to attend another school that handles people like me!

My 2-year-old child attended t...

My 2-year-old child attended this Christian center and loved every minute of it. On Wednesdays my child would come home with a new Bible verse to learn throughout the next week, not to mention the songs they sing (it really made me realize that even though I grew up in the church, there are still so many little storybook songs out there I have yet to learn). The teachers really got to know my child, and she wasn't looked upon as just another number in the floor (I turn away kicking and screaming if I see a child with a name tag smacked across their back... where is the personal side of caring for children?). The directors were friendly and willing to work with any child despite what challenges they may face. The center's tuition was very reasonably priced, too. I highly recommend DLC.
