My appointment was on 3/28 and I should have know something was off when my appointment was 1:15, but they didn't return from lunch until1;00. I waited 30 minutes and was finally seen by the tech. When Dr. Estes finally came in, he really didin't have a great bed side matter, but sometimes those are the best doctors, the one without great bedside matter. After my examination the receptionist asked for medical insurance, now mind you I have vision insurance and I was taken back when she asked because she asked at the begining of the appointment, but I didn't understand why when I have vision insurance. They receptiontist informed me the doctor "suspects" you having Glaucoma. I asked do I have it, they said no, they said the doctor mentioned it's possible I might get it. Well, it's possible I could get cancer, or it's possible I could get pregnant, after having a conversation with the office manager for over 20 minutes she basically told me my vision is not going to pay the claim, because they would submit my claim as medically procedure. I paid my co pay and went immidiately home and contacted my vision iinsurance company. Dr. Estes office must have known I would call them, becuase the time I got home and called my vision insurance they had already called. That sure seemed sneaky to me, but anyway my insurance company was behind and i was not out any money. Now let's fast forward to today, I called and asked for a copy of my eye prescription, they have refused to give my prescription so I've made another appointment with my regular Optometrist and will gladly pay for an eye exam, just so I don't have to go back to Eye Care Institute. As as matter fact, I'm going to contact my congress man about their business practices, I'm not sure if they are trying to run a scam by reporting eye examination under medical visit to get paid more or not, but something is not right this office.
