The Bureau of Procurement is responsible for the purchase and contract of materials and supplies for the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It acts as a purchasing coordinator and exercises control over the acquisition materials and services and awards contracts to suppliers The Bureau provides guidance and consultation to more than 50 state agencies, boards and commissions on their individual procurements. The Bureau of Procurement operates a supplier development section that provides various support services to materials, services, and programs and systems divisions. It also maintains a homeland security section that responsible for the development and implementation of acquisitions authorized through the Commonwealth Homeland Security Grant Program. The Bureau has a professional services division that supports agencies with service procurements such as printing equipment, fine paper, and mail, transportation and storage services. It is located in Harrisburg Pa.
