Formed in 1968, WVPT is the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia's public television station and broadcasting company. Located in Harrisonburg, Va., it offers an array of local programs. The company conducts literacy programs, science-related family events, morale-building awards projects, community assistance projects and educational seminars. It is one of the most accessible educational institutions in the region and utilizes the power of broadcasting to promote education, culture and citizenship for everyone. WVPT's over-the-air broadcast coverage area includes 40 counties.
