We went to Pioneer Pawn to try and sell some things. They did not have an interest in most of what we brought in, which I understand. They won't buy anything that they feel that they cannot sell. The one thing they expressed any possible interest was an 18kt gold ring. Their "expert" supposedly tried to do the acid test but couldn't get the ring to scratch the pad. They told me that it was a fake, which I knew it was not. After we got back into the car I checked the inside of the ring and found the 18kt stamp. My boyfriend went back in to show the "expert" the stamp. Both the "expert" and the owner said that someone other than the manufacturer stamped that in. However, to shut us up, the "expert" did another acid test and suddenly me fake gold ring was made of 14kt gold. We took the ring to another shop where the acid test verified that the ring was 18kt gold. If they did not want to buy the ring they should have just said so, not lie to my face.
