Dominick F. Burns Elementary School has an enrollment of more than 600 students and offers classes from grades kindergarten through six. It provides courses in English, computer education, mathematics, music, social studies, technology, arts, health and science. It consists of more than 20 monolingual English classrooms and over 10 bilingual and transitional Spanish-English classrooms. It offers resource services for special education, speech, and language and social work. Additionally, the school provides a variety of services, such as family nights, ceramics, cooking, computers, support groups, sewing, food pantry and team fathers. It also organizes science fairs. Located in Hartford, Conn., the school s library is equipped with computers and Internet and has an access to online periodicals and newspapers.
