Provided by YP.comI went to Deloris for a bridesmaid dress. It was my first time needing alterations on any dress so I simply googled and picked a seamstress. I brought my dress in, inside the bag from the store- walked in and it was a little messy, and unorganized but the amount of dresses hanging to be altered, I assumed I should give her the benefit of the doubt. She was very sweet and friendly.
When I came to pick up the dress, not only was it still way too big, but I noticed she used every different color of the rainbow thread, and there were 3 stains on the front of the dress. I told her about the spots, needed them removed, because I surely didn't get the marks on the dress, I brought it in a bag. I did not mention anything about the pink, yellow, white, red, purple, thread used on my charcoal dress- I should have. But I assumed at least it wouldn't be visible in photos.
The next time I went back, to get the dress, one of the cups of the bra she sewed in had fallen off and the other was crooked. I didn't say anything because I didn't want her keeping my dress any longer. When I checked the receipt, I noticed she had charged me for the cleaning of the dress, and some of the stains were still visible.
I was not happy.
So I took my dress elsewhere.
That seamstress couldn't believe what she saw. Loose threads everywhere, the bottom thread coming apart, all of the different colors, the tear on the inside of the dress that was not sewn back together, and the fact that it was still too big and the were falling out and not placed right. I simply had her replace the cups in the dress. She said "I will give her the benefit of the doubt, and say maybe her machine broke." Although the different colored threads still don't make any sense to me.
On the day of the wedding, putting on my dress, the bride realized that Deloris did not stay on the zipper when sewing the top back together from taking it in. There was a 2 inch gap that was not held together. Thankfully a bridesmaid knew how to hand sew and doubled up the thread and temporarily sewed the zipper back to the dress. Also the bottom of the dress was un-even and ripping where she cut it and took it up.
I wasn't going to the complain or write a bad review, but what I noticed on the day of the wedding was just ridiculous and unfortunate.
Deloris was a very kind lady but she really did an awful job, save yourself time and money-- and go elsewhere.
