The Hartland Fire Department (HFD) provides fire prevention and fire suppression services throughout the Hartland, Mich., area and to other residents in Livingston County. Protection is provided from three HFD stations with a combined four fire engines, a heavy rescue unit, three medical response units and several specialty units. Most of the department s employees are part-time, on-call members. The HFD responds to fire and medical emergencies throughout an area covering more than 70 square miles. Its main station, Station 61, is located at 3205 Hartland Road. It operates two other stations: Station 63, adjacent to the Deerfield Township Hall, and Station 62, located at the corner of United States Highway 23 and Parshallville Road. Also known as The Donald E. Epley Fire Station, it is home to the Livingston County Ambulance Department.
