B & J Small Engine is expensive and for one reason for that is Bill fixes anything he wants as shops did back in the 1950s where they padded the bill by "fixing" and then say it was needed. You literally have to tell him to fix items related directly to the problem ONLY. He WILL NOT call with an estimate and let you decide, so unless you want to hand your wallet over to him you'd better think twice.

But what bothers me even more is Bill's unprofessional demeanor. Bill seems to think high school wise cracking "humor" is part of customer service. He starts out a conversation with "so you broke it again?" which actually is not funny when you need your snowblower repaired and now. If you want your machine fixed you have to put up with his smart-ass comments. I prefer other alternatives now.

This guy is a rip off! $50 an hour. Charged me more than my lawn mower was worth. Way too expensive and will not tell you the charges before he bills than holds the equip. hostage.

Honest quality. Repairs by someone who knows what they are doing. Can diagnose a problem and fix it instead of throwing parts at it until it works. Solid ,honest repairs at a reasonable price.
