Provided by YP.comWorst experience of my life. My 4 year old Doberman Pinscher named Kobi was accidentally killed by staff at 4:41 a.m. and I was contacted at 4:44a.m (sleeping in parking lot) I was told Kobi just passed. I immediately ran in to be with my dog who was not breathing but not dead the doctor refused to resuscitate my dog. I knew something had happened and after being removed by police I insisted on seeing security camera footage which showed many hours of no attention to my dog and then at 4:41 the nurse performed a routine procedure to three dogs giving one a seizure and causing Kobi’s death. As I was being removed by the police, my dog died in front of me. The Final diagnosis was “sudden unexpected death from an unknown cause” I was given an $1800 bill as it was suggested my dog had underlying heart issues. Which is ridiculous because my dog was cleared to get on an airplane to Barbados one of the most difficult countries to import a dog, and just weeks before this we were living in California where we climbed mountains every weekend I had one on adventures almost every single day. Kobe was in extraordinary health just weeks before. Hattiesburg AMC eventually mailed me a cheap metal tin with my dogs remains in it.
Kobi was an extraordinary service dog and had actually saved my life.
He was at my side every single day since the first day I got him and was supposed to be until I was well in my 50s.
Another doctor had watched the video along with the manager and myself and I hope they did not destroy it because it clearly shows the accidental death as well as moments leading up to and after.
I do not expect any compensation, so I could have sued. However the card was lovely from staff but that is not enough. Kobi’s “sudden unexpected death from an unknown cause”deserves to be reviewed and addressed from an ethical and professional standpoint.
