Havelock Elementary School is a year-round school that provides learning opportunities to more than 430 students in kindergarten through grade five. It is a Title I school that offers a range of academic courses, such as art, music, physical education, math, reading, science and social studies. Founded in 1942 as a six-classroom school, it offers a character education program that imparts values of respect, responsibility, integrity and self-discipline to students. Havelock Elementary School also offers FRED reading, accelerated reader, extended learning and remediation tutors programs. In addition, it has a parent-teacher organization that conducts several fundraising events and supports student activities. Havelock Elementary School is administered by Craven County Schools and is located in Havelock, N.C.
