Havelock Public Services Department is involved into the development as well as maintenance of the city's infrastructure. It looks after the public streets, sidewalks, curb and gutters, street and traffic signs, pavement markings, fleet and equipment maintenance and facility maintenance. Havelock Public Services also caters review and inspection of public improvements in new development projects and also in public capital and replacement projects. The department is also responsible for maintaining a free flowing storm water system that greatly reduces the potential for flooding. Public Services is also into green waste removal as well as brown and white bulk item removal. The department is part of The City of Havelock, which several other departments as well, including Administrative Services, Finance, Fire Rescue, Grants/Public Information, Information Technology, Parks/Recreation, Planning/Inspections, Police and Tourist Center.
