After submitting a job online for a rush print of the following morning, I did not receive confirmation that the job had gone through. Normally, I would've driven to the store to pick it up, but the last three times I've submitted print work, the job never went through, and I ended up making a wasteful journey. This time I decided to call in first, and that was a mistake. Between three phone calls, I was on hold for more than 15 minutes. The phone would ring two or three times, someone would pick up, and I would hear nothing for 2-3 minutes. Then the phone would ring again. I went through this cycle at least four times before hanging up. I called in a fourth time and spoke to a manager (Shirley) who didn't listen completely to my complaint, interrupted me several times, and told me that she was sorry I had to wait for 3 minutes (note, I said 15). She then said the print center girl was only one person, and she had a line of customers. Shirley then informed me that she would check on my project and call me back (but not before asking me twice if I was sure I was calling the right Staples center because the area code of my cell phone didn't match the store's, which I kept telling her was because I was using a cell phone). After waiting for a call for more than two hours, I finally called in to cancel the project, only to be told that it had been printed and sitting there since that morning, and I just should've come in. The people at Staples are usually friendly--when you can talk to them--but they are completely understaffed and not responsive.
