Provided by YP.comMy son went to the 7-Eleven at 339 Jackson Street in Hayward, CA at 8:00 on November 05, 2008 to buy a cup of coffee and a newspaper. It was the day after the election and wanted the newspaper for a keepsake. The clerk behind the counter told him the newspaper was $5.00. He said why was it so much and was told that was the price.
A black woman was the next customer and got the same newspaper and was charged .50 cents. When my son asked why he was being charged $5.00 for the same newspaper he was told "These newspapers are seserved for the "Brothers and sisters" in the neighborhood.
This is clearly wrong that a person of a different skin color and gender can be charged a different price for the same iten and shows there are some people in this country are not willing to let go and have everyone live in freedom. It is truly unfortunate and upsetting to have experienced this. I have contacted 7-11 corporate office this morning hoping something can be done. I would recommend not shopping in this store until 7-11 can solve there problems with this unfortunate incident.
