The Alameda County Community Development Agency enforces ordinances and policies, as well as communicates with the community on the development and administration of laws. It focuses on the development and maintenance of comprehensive plan and other planning activities in public facilities and utilities. The agency provides land use planning, zoning administration, housing, neighborhood preservation, economic development, and agricultural preservation and enhancement services. It is also responsible for childhood lead poisoning prevention, consumer education and protection, and the regulation and enforcement of federal, state and county codes. It is operated by Alameda County, Calif., which also operates fire and rescue, police, human resources, parks and recreation, finance, regional jail and information technology departments. The Alameda County Community Development Agency is located in Hayward, Calif.
