Provided by YP.comI'd give zero stars if I could. Absolutely bizarre experience. The woman in charge is NASTY. She would not even come out from behind her glass window to greet us and interview us. She was too LAZY to check all my records as I had switched vets. In fact, my one vet told me she never even called. She is ABUSIVE. I have every single veterinarian receipt for at least the past 7 years. She did not want to see them. Two of her dogs have open bleeding wounds in the same exact spot. We were denied for NO REASON. She never interviewed us, just said our application is inconsistent. My records are completely consistent, but she did not want to see them? Her social skills are horrifying. There is something going on at this shelter. Maybe she needs dogs in her cages to get extra funding? Something is not right. There are two dogs with CONSISTENT open bleeding wounds on the tops of their noses. There's a Cadillac Escalade always parked there, I'm sure she has a few extra dollars to ensure the dogs are not injured, if that is what is causing those injuries, but with her temperament I am suspicious about what goes on behind closed doors there. We went to another shelter and what a difference! They were impressed with my consistent records of my dogs. We were met by not one, but three different employees interested in the dog I chose. I picked their favorite and they were overjoyed. They are not stupid. I wish I could tell my entire story, but I'm only allowed 2000. I will think of #16 for a long time, he would have had a wonderful life here. Please do not surrender your dogs here. There is something very strange going on at this shelter. And I'm going to find out what it is.

Provided by YP.comI have raised many dogs over the years yet was refused adoption in spite of personal references from my Dr. Hyssong prior to his death as well as several business acquaintances who vouched for my character and the quality of my care for dogs and cats. The following day I went to the SCPA in Wilkes-Barre where I adopted an adorable Shih Tzu puppy. It is a shame that the staff allowed their personal feelings to get in the way of what was best for the animals in their care. I no longer support this organization.
