Since moving to Hedgesville in 2013, we have been using Ark (Dr. Hess and his team). At first we thought Ark was a good Vet office and provided expert care for our dogs. Unfortunately over the years Ark seems to have degraded in cleanliness and level of expertise in care. Walking in now, we are never greeted by the smell of "clean" like we used to. Instead of a hospital smell it is now an animal smell that permeates the entire facility. On our latest visit we were led into an exam room and there on the floor was urine from a past patient. I pointed it out to the vet tech and she wiped it up. I would expect this to be done after each patient. This was a perfect example of the lack of attention to cleanliness that is now normal for Ark. We brought our dog to Ark last week for some scabbing and loss of hair on our dog's ear. No scraping was performed and we were simply told to put antibiotic cream on it. Turns out it is demodectic mange and needs a prescription drug.
