You know how magazines (like Better Homes & Gardens or Sunset) will portray an idyllic scene of a family visiting a nursery where the plants are varied and beautiful, and the workers are friendly and knowledgeable (and you can actually find one)? Thats really how it is at Cagliero Ranch Nursery (corner Devonshire and Kirby in Hemet, CA.) It's like a quaint, old-fashioned nursery. Everything is neat, clean and orderly, and the people who work there can give you good information about growing things in local conditions. You can even call them and ask about problems you might be having, and they'll have ideas for solutions. When I was concerned about a problem with my roses, I was able to go down there and discuss it with friendly, professional people. Ditto my heirloom cherry tomatoes. You don't find such special plants, great service, or congenial atmosphere at the giant, big-box home hardware centers. Cagliero makes even dorky gardeners look good!

Buy all of my trees and roses there. Mickey or Joe are the men to see about any gardening problems you might have. I am very particular about my roses and theirs are the healthiest I've found in the Riverside County area.
