Heartland Community Schools, located in Henderson, Neb., is approved by the Nebraska State Department of Education. The school district is spread on an area of more than 150-square-miles, and covers York, Hamilton, and Fillmore counties. It offers a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to more than 300 students in grades kindergarten through 12. Heartland Community Schools provides several elementary, junior and high schools that use the school-based, teacher-led, assessment and reporting system to test students in reading, math and writing. The district core curriculum includes English, arts, science, music, reading, writing, social studies, mathematics and physical education.
