EDUCATION Restituto Tibayan, MD, graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery. Post-graduation, Dr. Tibayan completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital as well as at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J. Dr. Tibayan also completed a geriatrics fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. EXPERIENCE Dr. Tibayan is a medical oncologist and hematologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. Working with the multi-specialty practice, Dr. Tibayan will deliver the most current medical knowledge and treatment options to patients in Southern Nevada. Prior to joining the practice, he held multiple positions with respected healthcare organizations in Garden City, Kansas. He served as principal investigator at the University of Kansas Cancer Center’s Midwest Cancer Alliance, enrolling patients for participation in major cancer clinical trials. He also worked at the Breast Center at St. Catherine’s Hospital having served as medical oncologist. At the Heartland Cancer Center, he was chief medical oncologist and hematologist for the practice and its three outlying clinics. Dr. Tibayan has contributed to a number of medical journals and conferences, including the ASCO annual meeting and the World Congress on Heart Diseases. Whenever possible, he spends his time traveling locally and abroad with his family and friends. He enjoys exploring the beautiful national parks in the US and partaking in outdoor activities such as rafting, kayaking, hiking, cycling and horseback riding. A self-proclaimed foodie, he’s always on the lookout for the best cuisine and restaurants in town.
