Operational for more than 30 years, the Hercules Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that works to preserve peace, deter crime, and maintain law and order. It operates a communication center that answers various calls and dispatches personnel for police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency cases. The department conducts neighborhood watch, ride along and Explorer programs. The Hercules Police Department supports the Crime Stoppers program, which seeks to identify criminals through citizens involvement. In addition, it offers fingerprint identification, traffic control and community-based services. The department also responds to domestic violence and animal control complaints.
