Hermiston Energy Services, also known as HES, is a locally owned municipal electric utility owned by the City of Hermiston in Oregon. It contracts out the operation, maintenance, and meter reading and billing operations of the electric utility to the Umatilla Electric Cooperative. The agency also provides an online home energy calculator. Hermiston Energy Services serves more than 4,900 meters of land. The agency buys wholesale power from the Bonneville Power Administration. It administers the (HEAT) Hermiston Energy Assistance Team program. Hermiston Energy Services augments electric bill paying assistance programs provided from federal sources through a contract with the Community Action Program East Central Oregon (CAPECO), private organizations and churches.
