Herscher Grade/Jr. High School is an educational institution that is a part of the Herscher Community Unit School District No. 2. The school educates students in kindergarten through grade eight. It organizes various award nights, music contests, academic achievement awards, and spelling and math contests. The school has an athletics department that offers various sports activities, including basketball, wrestling, volleyball, track and badminton. It provides classes in art, music, physical education, English, mathematics, science and social studies. The school has a library media center that houses a collection of storybooks, fiction and nonfiction books, newspapers, magazines, dictionaries and encyclopedias. Its parent-teacher organization sponsors several fundraising events and guidance programs.
