Provided by YP.comUs dog-lovers are very careful about who we leave our dogs with. They are part of our family and we want to leave them with people would we know will care for them and not mistreat them. Unfortunately, that was not the case when I dropped off my 3 ½ lb Teacup Yorkie at Crazy Tails Grooming. The $60 grooming service became a $1,900 surgery because of this establishment. I am new to the area and needed to take my dog to be groomed. I searched on the internet and found that the closest location to me was Crazy Tails Grooming. Nonetheless, I took my dog hoping that I would be pleased with the results. When my husband went to pick her up, the head groomer advised my husband that she had a limp leg. They advised us to take her to a nearby vet to have her checked out since she was not in that condition when we dropped her off. The veterinarian advised us that she had a tear in a crucial ligament on her leg that would only be caused by a “trauma” to the leg and that she would need surgery to repair it. In fear that they may have dropped her or mishandled her while she was there, we returned to Crazy Tails and let then know that she needed surgery and that it would be $1,900. The owner said that he had asked his employees and had looked at the cameras and that he did not see anything happen. He said that he is not responsible for what happened to my dog and that we signed a waiver when we left her that stated they would not be responsible for any physical damage to the pet caused while the dog was being groomed. He would not allow us to see the video footage nor did he even have the courtesy of reimbursing us for the $60 even after the incident occurred on the premises. After speaking to a few co-workers, the two that actually had been there before, said they would never take their dogs there again because they always come back with scratches or cuts. Any dog-lover would not want to leave their loved one to be groomed there. Take it from me. My dog will be having her surgery tomorrow which will cost $1,900 plus the cost of medication and will take 2 months to recover. It breaks my heart to see her walk on three legs and even more so when she tries to get on her hind legs to get my attention and falls because of the torn ligament. Our dogs are our family and I would never wish for anyone to have to go through this. Please do your research (thoroughly) when you leave your dogs somewhere. Don’t leave them here. I know that whatever happened, happened there and they were very quick to get on the defense and not take responsibility for what happened to my dog.
