High Springs Community School has been operational for more than 30 years ago and serves over 1,000 children in prekindergarten through grade eight. It offers after-school, accelerated reader and character education programs. The school s accelerated reader program is a computer-based application that enhances literacy skills of students. Its character education program imparts values of respect, responsibility, citizenship, courtesy, cooperation and honesty to students. The school involves students in the Future Farmers of America, which develops their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education. It has a student government that conducts several community projects and school programs, including food drives, March of Dimes WalkMania, talent shows and dance competitions. High Springs Community School is a part of Alachua County Public Schools and is located in High Springs, Fla.
