Provided by YP.comI tried this company through a Living Social deal. I had a problem with my certificate being marked as used before I ever used it but when I called, the owner told me it wasn t a problem and we scheduled my cleaning. The woman who came to my house was very, very nice and friendly. But I am extremely disappointed with how few rooms were cleaned and the quality of the work as well. Turns out she quit that day.
I should say that I picked up the entire house before they came. EVERYTHING off the counters, dressers, tables, etc. I wanted to make sure they weren t wasting time moving tubes of toothpaste, etc. and really could just focus on CLEANING. I had one housecleaner for 3 hours. In that time she dusted my bedroom (really, that was it, and we had removed EVERYTHING from the nightstands and dressers and made the bed, she didn t even clean the mirror on the dresser), cleaned the master 5-piece bath, cleaned my sons bathroom, and cleaned the 3/4-bath on the main floor. That was it. No vacuuming, mopping, or anything else. So, 45 minutes per room. I have been able to clean the entire house in 3 hours if my husband takes our kids somewhere and I crank up some music, so that seems like too few rooms for the amount of time she was here. We use natural cleaning products too, so I know that sometimes they take a little more time and effort than the stuff with bleach and other chemicals, but for 45 minutes per room, they should have been sparkling, right? The master bath wasOK, except that it didn t look like the shower basin had been cleaned. The bathroom cabinets weren t wiped down either, nor was the light switch, the baseboards, and the floor wasn t swept. My boys bathroom seemed OK but again, that attention to details that the owner claims just didn t happen. In the 3/4 bath, the mirror wasn t cleaned nor was the glass shower door, and the cabinet door wasn t wiped down in this room either.
If I had been satisfied with the job, I definitely would have signed up. We ve been searching for a quality eco-friendly cleaning service to come in for a few hours once a month. This isn t it.
The owner defends on all the negative reviews, blaming everything except her company s service. She attacked me for writing such a long review on Yelp. This was after SHE contacted ME via email in a false attempt to resolve things. I gave her some honest opinions in private and left the worst of it off my review. Seems to me she would want to hear that, not criticize me for it.
We scheduled another cleaning but then she sent me an email that said they wouldn t come unless I took down my Yelp review. I never knew her offer to fix came with strings attached. I said I would take it down and write another one if I had a different experience but nothing had actually been fixed yet. I wasn't about to rewrite it all if nothing had changed because I've got other stuff to do and she had only MADE a promise, not actually FULFILLED it!
I have no doubt she will attack me here as well, but you should know:
1. The owner was never at my house so I hope she doesn t try to claim that my house was especially dirty as she has with others. Anyone who knows me will attest that even in its worst state, my house is still pretty clean.
2. I did leave a message to try to resolve this before posting a review. No one returned my call.
3. I am not a generally unhappy person. You can look at my reviews and see that I am usually quite pleased and spend way more time giving positive reviews than negatives.
4. Yes, Yelp does filter reviews and it may actually be skewed to the negative. But one of the things they filter for are people who only have 1 or 2 reviews. Their thinking is that if a person only posts 1 review and it s a 5-star, it might be a friend, neighbor, or family member of the business owner, therefore it may not be as accurate as someone who doesn t know the owner.
5. She insisted that I change my review before she actually corrected anything.
It is always important to resolve all issue that may arise with customers but with the Living Social customers it's a little bit more difficult. They only purchased a short window of time to get cleaning but most of them expected their entire home to be cleaned which is both not what they paid for and not possible the first time around. With this customer is particular the girl who cleaned for her could have gone faster for sure and I realized this so we offered to come back in spite of the fact that she only paid for a certain amount of time and that is what she received. The only thing I asked her to do was take down a review that she left and if we came back and the issue wasn't fixed and she wasn't happy then by all means put it right back up again. The issue is that although she writes these extremely long complaints and emails she said she didn't have time to redo the review. Clearly this is not the case as this is the longest complaint I have ever seen. We were willing to come back to make this right but we also know when there is a customer that has no intention on being happy with us so we decided to not go back as we understood that she had no intention on using us or changing her idea of us although we did try.

Provided by YP.comHiring a green cleaning company is very important to us since we don't want all those toxic things in our home with our new born. So when we found Melissa and Dust Bunnies we were so excited! We have been using them for over 2 years now and they are awesome. They, just so you know, would NEVER use windex. The owner actually hates windex and makes all the supplies they use so I was surprised to see what this other person said. We love them and would recommend them to anyone.

Provided by YPmobileFirst off this company advertises as a green company. I don't know how they consider WD-40 and Windex green cleaners. Second the owner is very rude and condescending when asked about these issues. And when asked about the Windex she says that it's not Windex but it clearly is. Third I paid for 2 hours of cleaning and asked that they focus on the living room and bathroom and not to worry about the kitchen. They did everything but the rooms I wanted then to focus on. And last I schedule this cleaning for Tuesday and after being rescheduled 3 times, once with out being informed they finally came on Friday. This company has to be the worst most unprofessional company I have ever hired. if you are considering hiring this company save your money. you would be better off doing it yourself.
Hello Tom, I appreciate the time it took to write this but I really wish you would have called us as you never did. We never spoke so not sure why you would say that. We do not ever use Windex, in fact, those gray spots on your mirrors are from Windex. I literally make all of our products which ARE green. The WD-40, yes we use this but it's not for what you think I am sure. Our entire clientele is busy young families and busy little bee kiddos tend to write on walls. WD-40 is the ONLY thing that gets that off without damaging paint. We also do so many move out/ move in cleans we always have this in our bucket. WD-40 is also mainly oil (which isn't toxic) which I am assuming you are not aware of. Also with the Living Social deal it was only 1.5 hours of cleaning which anyone who has ever cleaned before knows that you can't really get a whole lot done within that time especially when you are deep cleaning a space. We are not a surface cleaning company. Far from it. Although we take all complaints very seriously and seek a solution always I question the validity of this one.
