Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86 bed freestanding behavioral health hospital offering psychiatric care for adults and adolescents. Centrally located in Littleton, the facility is easily accessible to families throughout the Front Range and just minutes from surrounding communities. The facility is open for admission 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. Assessments are provided free of charge. Walk-ins are welcome, however scheduled appointments are preferred. Our clinical services are delivered by qualified mental health professionals and each patient is given a no-cost comprehensive evaluation as part of the admission process. Most awful experience imaginable. I took my child here because she was self harming. DO NOT EVER take your child to this facility. They put her in isolation for two days because she was in the same room as someone with the flu. She received no care during this time. She only saw the psychiatrist one time during her very expensive stay, and not the one that was initially assigned to her . They diagnosed her with depression and then put her on a non-FDA approved drug for the diagnosis. Now we are fighting side effects such as severe suicidal thoughts and hallucinations. They refuse to take my calls, and keep telling me to follow up with my aftercare provider. Our family needed help, and they only provided worsening circumstances. Please, if you care about your child, stay far away from this place

This place is built for insurance fraud! Nothing else. I have been told by many (over 5) employees that regardless of your symptoms you will stay 7 - 10 day. No exceptions . Why?Because they will put a mandated stay on you after 72 hours, wait until the judge must hear the case (10 days later), then suddenly let you go so it never goes to court. The Doc's NEVER see you so they have no case but by that time who cares they have their money. DO NOT PUT ANYONE IN THIS PLACE.

Highlands is a gem. They helped a family member of mine in her darkest hour and helped her get better. The staff is professional, truly top rate, and know what they are doing. The facility is very clean and well run. The staff cares about the patients and they are committed to these kids. I can't say enough positive about this place. We are blessed to have them in our community.
