The Hillsboro Police Department works to prevent, detect and investigate criminal activities through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It operates a communication and dispatch center that responds to police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency calls. The department employs more than 20 full-time sworn police officers, part-time school resource and animal control officers, crossing guards and dispatchers. The Hillsboro Police Department provides copies of accident and incident reports and issues pistol permits. It is located in Hillsboro, N.H.
