Provided by YP.comWill not be my first choice in the future, they seem to talk a good game, however money is thier priority, not the proper care or correct diagnosis. Make sure you get a second opinion.

Provided by YP.com5 stars x2. I've taken 4 housecats and plenty of strays (for neutering). Sadly 2 of my housecats are dead from cancer (one in 2010, one recently). Dr. Martins showed more compassion than any doctor I know (that includes MDs, and MDs treat PEOPLE!) and helped me accept the inevitable. He and his staff have been there for us as we gradually accept the loss of our "best boy" and our ongoing life with our other two wonderful cats.

Provided by YP.comBelle Mead Animal Hospital is the best, simple as that. I am a volunteer at the hospital seeking to be a future vet, and this place is great to learn from. This hospital is filled with veterinarians that care to help the animals that come in. The technicians are superb as well. All the dogs/cats are handled appropriately no matter what the case may be. The best thing about Belle Mead Animal Hospital is that they dont cut corners no matter what needs to be done. Whether it be surgery or simple vaccinations, everything is done correctly - with every T crossed and every I dotted. The previous comments about money reflect peoples views about the pricing of this facility, not the work this facility does. The money runs parallel with the great work they do. In the end, its your pet's health that matters. Highly recommend.

Provided by YP.comHorrible! They like to do lots of unneccessary lab tests, give unecessary medications. My dogs white cell count was slightly elevated with NO Symptoms. Dr. Marten's said "If it were my dog I would give him antiparisitic medication". A Doctor should not guilt you into treatment. My dog had a lyme test by luvmypet clinic which was positive. They said "do I trust the test?" They wanted the dog retested (extra needle in him and extra cost) They refuse to provide prescription over the phone to an outside pharmacy. They say we don't know how the medication is stored! They charge 3 to 10 times the cost of medication than online accredited veterinary pharmacies. They also insisted on an EEG due to a slight heart murmer and no symptoms. Shame on them. However, I think Dr. Somjen is great.

Provided by YP.comVeterinarians who really care - Excellent service, Highly recommend
I have been taking my cats to Belle Mead Animal Hospital for well over eleven years now. Dr. Martins was extraordinary in helping me take care of my FIV cat. I trust them completely with the care of my current pets. The entire staff has always impressed me as being knowledgeable and caring about all the animals that come through their doors. They listen to your concerns and help guide you to make the right decisions toward care and treatment. I trust this practice, and I use them exclusively for wellness exams and consultations regarding my cats. I highly recommend Belle Mead Animal Hospital to anyone who has their pet's best interest in mind.

Provided by YP.comYes - The place is clean with friendly staff and decent hours.
My problem. I'm Broke!
When asked, the staff would not provide a quote for the basic annual shots for my two pups. She said it was reasonable.
$600 for basic shots for 2 pups!!
While there the front staff was too busy ordering dinner to notice that my folder was ready for processing so I could pay and get home.
There's something wrong with a place that needs to charge this amount for these basic services.
I won't be returning.

Provided by YPmobileI have been taking all 7 of my cats to Belle Mead Animal Hospital for almost 10 years now and they are The Best!! Dr. Martins and his entire staff are the GREATEST!! Dr. Martins ALWAYS takes the time to talk to us about whatever is going on with our cats, he never seems rushed to just diagnose and hurry to the next animal patient! He ACTUALLY CARES about our animals and their health and what is best for our babies. With him it has NEVER EVER been about the money, it's ALWAYS been about the cat! I can't begin to say enough good things about him and his staff, there isn't enough space for me to write. If you have an animal and are in need of a good, caring, loving vet and live in the area I STRONGLY URGE & ENCOURAGE u to take your animal to Belle Mead Animal Hospital. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!

Provided by YP.comTop notch medical facility for pets. They saved my cat's life at a time when most other vets probably would have put him down. The staff is wonderful and they took excellent care of my cat during surgery and post surgery. I received daily (if not twice daily) status updates.
If you are considerate and respectful to them as a pet owner (and don't yell), they will treat you and your pet with the utmost respect and courtesy. If you are on a budget, work with them and ask that they let you know approximate costs of services up front. This will also give you a chance to decline any services that you don't think are necessary.
Anyway, I really had a great experience with Dr. Martins and his entire staff. You can tell that they really love animals.
I know that some people complain about costs, but you have to keep in mind that they can't run a top facility for free either.

Dr. Martins has 4 other vets that are all knowledgeable and since my rescue has had over 300 animals there in the past year, I can honestly say there have been no mistakes and many cats lives have been saved due to Dr. Martins' care. Dr. Somjen goes out of her way to help, very good with the animals and has even fostered CAPIC kittens. Dr. Simon, Dr. Stephens, and Dr. White have all correctly diagnosed many issues we have had with our cats. Joni the office manager is precise, has a clue, and the rest of the staff is always polite and caring. They have great vet techs (Chrissi) and staff (Shiloh and many others) and I see how they treat everyone, as I am often there with our rescues and I have to say they are as professional and kind to all the pets. I bring my own pets there, so to say I believe they are a great animal hospital is putting it mildly. I can only state my experiences with the hundreds of animals I have brought there, and I have not had one bad experience and I have many cats who owe their lives to Belle Mead and their care. I highly recommend them.

I love Belle Meade Animal Hospital! They are not only professional, but caring. The minute you walk in the door you get a sense that everyone there has a true passion for animals and will do whatever they can to help you and your pet. High level care and customer service seems to me to be their priority. If you don't believe me, just go there yourself, sit in the waiting room and listen. You will learn more there in 30 minutes about animal wellness, care, and behavioral training than you would at any other veterinary clinic. I have seen multiple vets there and they each take the time to really communicate to you as the pet owner rather than what I've experienced other places which has been cold and sterile in comparison. I've recommended this facility to many of my fellow pet owners and each have thanked me as they've been very happy with their service.

Provided by YP.comExcellent Doctors, and excellent service. Never any issues, very caring and professional and state of the art services. Great hours, kind employees and always helpful. Dr. Martins is a very caring vet, Dr. Somjen is great, as are Dr. Simon, Dr. Stephens and Dr. White. All great people and caring vets. Nothing but great things to say.

Recently, we adopted two great cats. However, a bout with ringworm and parasites have made us frequent visitors to Belle Mead Animal Hospital. Since the first visit, the entire staff has been so helpful and friendly. The staff at the front desk is always prompt and shows the utmost concern for the wellbeing of our cats. Our vet, Dr. Martins is extremely caring and does an amazing job explaining issues and proper treatments. The office is always clean and the late weeknight hours and Saturdays are convenient. Even though we live quite a distance away, we still take our cats to Belle Mead Animal Hospital. We wouldn't think of taking them anywhere else and would recommend them to anyone!

I really love the BMAH! Everyone at the hospital is always very friendly as well as knowledgeable and professional. Their facility has always met my needs (surgery, dentals, x-rays, etc) and I feel they are also very progressive (Laser Therapy !!) The doctors and staff have always taken the time to listen to myself and my family. They have always seemed so busy when visiting, but I've honestly never had a problem getting an appointment. They have late hours until 8 a few nights a week, which definitely helps. They have really opened my eyes and informed me of so many things that my past vets have never even mentioned (and I have had pets my whole life!) They even treated my dog's congenital heart condition for years with medication when past vets told me not to even bother because he probably wouldn't live past 1 to 2 years. I wouldn't want anything but the best for my pets, and I really feel like I get it there.

Provided by YP.comI heard good things about this place. I had brought my kittens there to be "fixed'.I aske the doctor to call when they went in and a call when they came out. And sure enought Doctor marks called me to let me know how they were doing. She even made a point to see me whjen I went to pick them up. So when my dot needed a dental I brought him there and we had seem "doctor" Martin
he held my dog the entire time and we even had a tour of the entire place. And he calimed they like to try to treat animals holiticly. So the day of his apt. i waited outside with another women who was haven a dental done by the same "doctlor" and she went on and on about how good he was. Well I went to pick him up. They calmed there was an emertency and I'd have to wait. I waited for an hour and a half! Every person there was leaving wiht bottles and bottles of drugs. They tried to gibe me 4 drugs to go home with the only thing i iook was antibotics and pain meds. Fillnally they brought hime out, I couldn't believe it was my dog he wasn't able to stand. His right let from the shoulder all the way down to his ankle was shaved down to the skin and it was one entire bruise.!!!! I screamed at the girl who brouth him out what did you do to him!!!!!.I called every single day for a week and every day evpained this to every person I talked to.I wanted to talk to that "doctor" finallly I was able to talk to him. come to also find out he had also given him morphine. As if He needed that, Well after they were done with him did!!! the women who had her dogs teeth cleaned came out all happy and alert and the 'lotctor' spoke to her. but when my dog was done he was no were to be found he probably ran. I knew something was wrong when i got there and had to wait,.They were hiding him from me. I don't llike martins at all and wouldnl't trust my dog with him. if it were evne life or death situation i'l rallther let my baby die first before he'd ever touch him again. Also doctorr Marks doensn't work there any more but I still go to her. She is an ecellent Doctor.

Provided by YP.comWe have a shelter dog that needed medical attention. The shelter arranged payments with Belle Mead. The dog had major surgery and no one called to see how she was. They later told me the biopsy didn't show anything and would be rechecked. They then had to treat some swelling near the incision and told us they were getting authorization from the shelter to give us antibiotics. Three days later, I called to follow up. No one called back and we kept calling until the vet spoke to us a full week after the visit - no meds yet. I asked about the biopsy recheck (same results) and what to do next since there was still no diagnosis. When I expressed frustration with unreturned calls and re-explaining the entire situation every time I call (even though they've talked to me a dozen times in the past month) they didn't even apologize. After I asked them to fax records to the shelter, the vet reviewed the biopsy report again and said it DID show something. Now they are billing me for the services even though they have written records that the shelter is to be billed, and when I called about it, they said they don't make arrangements with third parties. This is typical - every time we deal with them, the story changes. Overall, they offer very poor service and higher prices than other local vets.

The doctors and staff at The Belle Mead Animal Hospital in Hillsborough are genuinely kind and caring. They patiently explained how to give my cat, who was recovering from a kidney infection, fluids. The technician who showed me how to do it was professional and understanding and Dr. Martins always calls within a day or two to ask how the patient is recovering. The hospital is always clean and when I need an emergency appointment, the receptionist staff always gives me one. Dr. Martins is a gifted veterinarian and his staff is exceptional in every way.

I brought both of my guinea pigs to this hospital for mites and some stomach problems. One of them had a cyst on his leg. The vets never ran any tests on the mucus or fluids to determine infection, cost WAY too much money, and told me there was nothing I could do. The one guinea pig I was told was just 'old' at 2 1/2 years old, and was just aging badly. After bringing them to a fantastic vet in Shrewsbury who is ACTUALLY good with exotic animals, we found they were both misdiagnosed. We gave them a round of pro-briotic, which fixed their stomach issues. One of them now has 2 cysts I have to clean manually, and give him another 30 days of antibiotic. Had this hospital done its job, I would have saved 200 extra dollars on more treatments, and had a healthier, happier pet. They are completely inept at dealing with guinea pigs. Do not even bother going here. I recommend Dr. Cianci at Shrewsbury Animal Hospital in Monmouth County. It's a drive, but worth it, totally.

I came in as a new pet owner and had many questions for the doctor and receptionist. The doctor was very kind and patient answering all of my questions. The receptionist as well gave me very informative information on pet sitters/dog parks/pet insurance, etc. They took the time to answer all of my questions in a very professional and friendly manner. I would recommend them to all of my friends.

I think the doctors are staff at Belle Mead are awesome. First off, the staff is always friendly and helpful. I feel like I can always ask them whatever crazy questions I come up with. The doctors are excellent! They have a great bedside manner and are very compassionate. We started going here when we moved to the area and have had no complaints whatsoever. We brought our cat to our previous vet for years, and althought we liked him, he never once mentioned anything about dental care or how harmful the tartar on our cat's teeth were. On our first visit to Belle Mead, Dr. Martins took the time to explain just how bad his teeth were and went over every aspect of dental care with us. Our cat's mouth is clean and looking great, and I feel better knowing his filthy mouth won't be effecting his heart or kidneys now. I now recommend them to anyone with animals and have brought all of my other pets there. They even have experience with ferrets, rabbits and rats! Amazing...

Provided by YP.comI've been taking my lab there since she was 8 weeks old and NEVER been impressed by the service. Most of the receptionist are super sweet, but a lot of the other staff always talks down to you in a conscending matter. One of their most popular solutions to all issues is; change the pets' diet. Which I can totally understand, but it's not usually the only solution. My lab has suffered horrible allergies since she was a puppy. I once asked if there was an allergy test that could be done along with the elmination diet. I was looked at as if I had 3 heads. Lo and behold speaking with other vets, there is one!
My issue with them is they seem to care more about the money then the actual well being of your pet. I would NOT recommend them. Hopewell Vet is so much better!! And they care about your animal there!
