Subaru Telescope, NAOJ is an observatory that was established in 1997. The facility houses several research laboratories, a library and extensive computing facilities, including a supercomputer for data management and analysis. The supercomputer is also used to provide weather-related data in collaboration with University of Hawaii s meteorologists. It builds and operates research facilities for researchers throughout Japan and worldwide. Subaru Telescope is one of 10 NAOJ facilities. Subaru Telescope is an open-use facility and accepts joint project coordination proposals from organizations worldwide. The organization is located in Hilo, Hawaii.
