Dogs dirty when we picked up, one of the three was covered in flea or bug bites all over her belly and groin area, had to remove 2 ticks. All three looked like they had lost 10 pounds in the 6 days we boarded them there!! Terrible, I should have ran when I saw it was a house used for a kennel.

Do not bring your dog here

Do not bring your dog here. I know our dog was drugged. I suspect dramamine. She told us that is what they suggest for dogs who have feareat or anxiety. I called the vet, they said NEVER use dramamine. Benadryl is fine. She had a sever fest of being left alone now.

My dog who loves everyone now freaks out when I take him to get groomed after going to La Maison Du Caniche. Let me start off by saying we recently moved from a very big city where my dog was always groomed for $55. I suspected since this is a small town the prices wold be more but I didn't ask when I made the appointment. Big mistake! My dog has a ton of hair but we comb him twice a week. There was a tiny bit of matting around his ears but that was it; totally matt free everywhere else. She charged me $150! I'm not kidding. Money aside, because that is not my real issue. I just wanted to put that out there......be sure to get an in person quote. This is a house, in a residential neighborhood. Just FYI. When I walked in I noticed the cages where the animals stay for boarding. That should have been my cue to leave. Maybe that is where the animals stay who are getting groomed. Either way, old and run down looking is not the look you want when your pet is there. When I picked him up I remember thinking I probably could have used my husbands clippers & he would have looked better. He was extra anxious when he saw me which is a trait I had never seen before. (He is 3 years old & gets groomed every three to four months) It wasn't until I got home & took him out of my SUV that I realized they cut four of his nails too far down & blood was all over his fur & the back of my truck. His nails didn't even need to be trimmed as we do that regularly. I shouldn't have to mention that as they are suppose to be professional groomers. Anyone can look at a dogs nails & see if they need to be cut or not. But four nails cut too far down?? After I cleaned the blood off of his fur & his nails finally stopped bleeding it wasn't until the next day that he seemed to settle down. I didn't call to complain because I didn't see what the point would be when I knew I would never be taking him back there. Instead, I felt this review would be a better way to be heard & to warn possible potential customers. I have found a place in Richmond Hills that I like. $60 for a cut that looks professional & no bloody paws when I pick him up. He used to trot in the groomers but since this visit he gets extremely anxious. They tell me he was as sweet as pie, which is no surprise, but the fact that he isn't relaxed anymore when going to be groomed certainly makes me wonder why.
