Highly recommend! Professional, fast, and reasonably priced. My bathroom window had a leak and after finding out that my condo association was not responsible, I asked around and people recommended Hillside Construction Heating & Cooling. Mr. Shannon came out, clearly explained what he was going to do, gave a reasonable price and completed the job in a timely manner. Since then, I have also had him install a new heat pump which was actually a more efficient system than other contractors offered and I also received a better rebate, which saved me thousands. He's number one in my rolodex - I highly recommend him!

do NOT trust!

I do NOT recommend anyone to deal with “Hillside Construction Heating and Cooling (Hingham, MA), and specifically with Mr. Danny Shannon. He will not do a good job and will price himself about $350.00 per an hour. I paid him $5575.00 dollars. He used about $2000.00 to get the equipment and the rest for ten hours of work. You may ask, why would I agree to pay? Because when he told me the model of my new heat pump (but not the price of it) I searched it and found a similar model for about $3500.00. And he also told me he would be working with a partner, and it would take about two days to do the job. So, I estimated, 2 guys, 2 days, 5 hours a day, $100 each per hour, gives about $2000.00. Together work and equipment would be around fifty five hundred. In reality, he worked alone, and as I know NOW (after the court hearing!) he spent much less on the equipment. So, from the very beginning I was misled, or as people usually say, I was cheated upon. That is why I write this review – to warn. There is more at Angie's List. Here I just add: The system does not stop after reaching the target temperature.
The unit has not been delivered in original packaging. We do not have proper warranty documentation (a label from the packaging, a proper warranty form). There is no proof that the unit is brand new as it has been agreed at the beginning.
In fact, the unit might have been found, stolen, refurbished, or it might have been a leftover from another project of Mr. Danny Shannon – only during the court hearing I was provided with a receipt for the unit, but I still do not believe that the unit was brand new (it cost about $1000.00 less than a similar unit I found on the Internet). Or when working with this very heavy equipment alone he could damage it. Or when wiring the unit he could damage it, too (he fried two thermostat!).
Anyway, long story short, eventually we went to a court. I claimed that the system is NOT brand new. However, the judge demanded more than my reasoning, he asked for evidence, like someone else’s testimony. Without external evidence the judge ruled against me (which is fine, I still have a year to collect those evidence and go to the court again, if I want).
And even if the system is brand new, still it does not work the way it has to, and still Mr. Danny Shannon ignores me (although in the court to get his way he called me an alcoholic, a person who loves suing people, and other personal things).
