Back in 1998, it was decided that the veterans that have served our country honorably but were not qualified to join the American legion or the V.F.W., should have a meeting place available to serve ALL veterans and have facilities available to help them in their pursuit of their V.A. benefits, etc. Thus, A group of like-minded individuals began a veterans post on Bartelt road in Holiday , The Paul R. Smith-Ernest Burge Amvets Post 98 The old building (an old garage) was converted into the beautiful club it is today. I'm proud to say I became the first commander in 1998, hence the "post 98 designation". To the current officers and members I wish them health and happiness in their endevours.
