It is sad, sad indeed, that a consumer demands free computer and component diagnosis by pleading ignorance. This consumer, according to her: "I've done this before for my sister, (at another repair facility,) and they gave it to us for free!" We are not Walt Mart or a major chain. We are a Honest Repair Shop, where we believe that: Quality of Repairs, Honesty and Fair price are the best ingredients to provide the best Service for our customers. We give to single mothers up to $100.00 of emergency repairs for free. This particular consumer has sent notes such as this one to every possible place including the BBB. She did not realize that we are in the Auto Repair Business for 39 years, and at this location since 1986. The entrance of our driveway, on either side has has a sign: "Honest Mechanic" and we're doing business by word of mouth. As a member of the Rotary of Tarpon Springs, having gray Hair and two grand daughters, I'm committed to being Fair and Honest in all my dealings.

I wouldn't want anyone else working on my vehicle, he is a fellow Rotarian and once I took my husband to him HE also would not go to anyone else. George is Honest as they come!!!

I have had my truck and car serviced at Five Star and have taken my wife's car to them as well. They are fair and honest people who are committed to doing excellent work at a fair price. I have recommended them to friends and family and will continue to use them.

As a single female I dread taking my car in for repairs, because I know I'm an easy target for dishonest mechanics and there are plenty of them out there. So when I was referred to George and Five Star Auto, I was happy to hear that he could be trusted. I'm pleased to report that he checked out my car issues, told me I didn't need anything done for one area (saved me money) and did my oil change. He presented my bill which was about $5 less than I anticipated and that I had paid at another place.

Another time, I had to take my car in for a brake light, without an appointment. He did not have the part needed so his assistant ran out to get it. The repair was done in about an hour and when he presented the bill it had some odd change due and he rounded it DOWN. When does that ever happen.

I totally trust George and his staff and I highly recommend him to all my girlfriends and family.

I have been a loyal 5 Star Auto customer for the past 8 years. I have and would recommend them to anyone! The entire staff there is friendly and accommodating. Anyone that would bring their car to an AUTO REPAIR SHOP is OBVIOUSLY looking for some sort of AUTO REPAIR guidance and/or service. In order to ensure any and all problems or potential problems are deterred, a DIAGNOSTIC would need to be completed. How could you POSSIBLY expect a RELIABLE vehicle without one being done, and how do you EXPECT THIS, FOR FREE??? No REIABLE mechanic would just use any parts; If they are going to stamp their name on their service, they are going to make sure the products used, are also REIABLE. Therefore, you can understand the hesitation in using YOUR, “life time parts” (that fell off the back of the truck). Desperate people like you made our economy the way it is today. You EXPECT EVERYTHING for free, and treat everything as if you have a RITE to it! Keep making your ridiculous reviews so the world can see and hopefully learn from the ignorant people like you! If you are looking for a TRUSTWORTHY AND CARING mechanic, this is where you need to look and make your mind up for yourself!!

I have been a customer of Five Star Automotive for 5+ years and never had a problem, George is fair and honest. I guess I should complain about my doctor because he charged me for a check up, they never tell me the cost unless I ask (and you said there was a sign in the office). Ignorant is all I can say. And by the way George the office looks great with the added area for our kids to play while we are waiting.

Do not go here!! This mechanic GEORGE is a dishonest CROOK!!! I brought my car in for a tune up and an engine light, and expected to get an estimate before any work was done. I was told by Maria that I would be called and told what the price would be. NOTHING was said to me about a $58.95 diagnostic charge which I would be required to pay in order to get my car back, regardless of whether I agreed to have the work done. I never authorized this and when I protested he pointed to a sign on the wall with the diagnosic prices, and I should have expected that I would have to pay something, and that he has this problem with customers all the time. He also said that under FL state law he doesn't have to disclose costs under $100 -- but he is MISUSING this law in an underhanded, sneaky way. I again stated that I should have been told when I dropped my car off that there would be a charge. He insisted that I had to pay the $58.95 and if I didn't he would put a lien on my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!! BAD, BAD, BAD!!!! I am filing legal complaints against this business.
