I called for new gutters for my home. Approx 100 ft of gutter plus downspouts, a rough quote was given over the phone for 680.00.He (Scott)said he used an online program that showed my home and lets him measure it.I asked for a written quote so someone came over and measured on site.It turned out that the measurements were 16ft total longer so the written quote was now 735.00, still I understand.I was told they would also tar the vent boots on the roof.

I asked for a contract and I would sign it, I was told by Amy, quote"we don't do contracts" but if I wanted to I could sign the estimate and send it back they would sign it and send me a copy, so far all is good.

Now comes the kicker when they come do the job the bill is 785.00 not 735.00 but since they did not do the vent boots because the boots needed to be replaced the new bill was 735.00, which I paid in protest since I had the estimate of 735.00 with the tarring of the vent boots which they did not do.

Long story short it was my fault for not having a contract, watch out for these guy's they are shrude.

Short story- I believe I was heavily over charged for work that was done. The interaction with employees of the company was not the least bit professional.



Long story- I hired this company to hang two 12 foot sections of gutter on an addition to my house. I got an estimate of $198 to do the work. I told them that I had sections of gutter that I would like to use if possible. He assured me that it would make a significant difference in the price if they were able to use it. We scheduled the work for a Friday in the morning. Friday came and went and I heard nothing. I called the company on Tuesday of the next week and the same gentleman told me that he wasn't sure what happened and that he "must have just forgotten about me". We re-scheduled the work and the crew came out and completed the work using the gutter that I already had. They used about 20 feet of downspout and 2 elbows of their material. The worker wasn't sure how to charge me because they used my gutter so he called his boss. He said it was going to be $176. ($22 less than the original estimate, using all new material) I told the worker that me must be mistaken and asked him to call his boss back. After he confirmed that the total was right, I asked to speak to his boss. It was the same guy I had talked to previously. I explained everything to him and he said that the numbers were right. I simply asked him if that made any sense to him. He said that it did. I reminded him of our discussion earlier regarding the price difference and he said that it was less, and that was it. I was furious but realized that I hadn't asked for a new estimate- so I was stuck. I told the guy that he wouldn't be in business for long if he did business like this. He answered "Dude, I have been doing this for 20 years." Not exactly the professional work and demeanor I had expected.
