The company s niche market consists of books of special interest to academics and public policy people, rather than trade or general interest books. Many times the publication is supported by the author or an academic center at a graduate school. Editing and distribution of the book are typically handled through Hollis Publishing, with the prepress and printing facilities of Puritan Press being used for publication. Hollis Publishing occasionally produces a biography or other title outside its niche. The publisher also handles limited print-run or number of copies. Hollis Publishing specializes in short-runs of one or two thousand copies, which traditional houses would refuse.
