Took my Evinrude outboard motor in to have oil changed as it had been sitting awhile in my garage. This was a newer motor with only about 30 hours on it. Owner recommended a new impeller and oil change so we agreed to service. Picked up motor about a week later assuming we were ready to go? Took out for a test on lake but couldn’t seem to work shift lever? Turns out shifter cable wasn’t even attached, hole threads totally stripped and just lucky I managed to get back to dock. So called, and called Jack (owner) but never bothered to answer or return calls. They charged me $175. to do the oil change (and impeller) and it cost me another $225.00 to repair motor after it was found done incorrectly. Thanks for nothing Central Boat of Hollister- we will NEVER let you work on our boat again!!!
